Viola

Tilly Chester

Tilly describes herself as a typical 15-year-old girl from Worcestershire. She began learning the violin when at 4 years old after wanting to be just like her older brother. He gave up soon afterwards, but she loved it right from the beginning. After switching to the viola in 2012, when she got her first real instrument, Tilly fell in love with the rich sound.

She's have been a student at Chetham’s school of Music for the past year and a half. During the holidays she goes gigging with her dad. Their band is called Agape.

Tilly joined the National Youth Orchestra in January 2012 and hopes to go to the Royal College of Music after her A levels. This has been her dream since she was about 9 years old. Her other activity in life is sailing. She trains 2 or 3 times a week and competes nationally.
