Chris was born with congenital nystagmus and started to play the trumpet at 9 years old. He quickly developed a passion for the instrument, joining many local orchestras and bands including South West Surrey Concert Band and Surrey County Youth Orchestra.
In 2005, he became a member of the Music of Life Foundation, another organisation trying to bring talented young disabled musicians to the forefront of public life. This gave Chris the opportunity to play with world-renowned orchestras like the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Cadogan Hall and St John’s Orchestra in Smith Square and have tuition from the late James Watson, Head of Brass at the Royal Academy of Music.
Chris has just completed his degree in BSc Acoustics and Music at the University of Southampton which he found an interesting mix of practical music and science. He was an accomplished member of many groups in the Southampton area, including Southampton University Concert Band and the Southampton University Brass Band.
